One of the best things about Copenhagen is its many green oases – perfect places to take a well-deserved break and gather for a picnic, whether it’s lunch in the sun or dinner in the warm summer breeze.
Here, we’ve gathered eight of the best parks in Copenhagen, where you can escape the noise of traffic and crowds. Bring a blanket, a couple of glasses, and find your perfect picnic spot. Then there’s only one thing left to decide: What to eat?
At Pico Pizza, we have restaurants all over Copenhagen serving juicy mini pizzas with both familiar and new flavours. Let this guide inspire your next picnic in the city.
There’s a reason one of the world’s most iconic paintings is called The Luncheon on the Grass. Few things beat the feeling of enjoying good food surrounded by nature – and the garden in Frederiksberg is one of the best places to do just that.
Here, you’ll find a beautiful view of Frederiksberg Palace, winding paths that lead you through hidden corners, and wide lawns perfect for sunbathing. Pico Pizza Vesterbro is within walking distance – so which mini pizzas will you go for when hunger hits?

This green gem sits just behind Nørreport Station and offers a romantic, charming vibe. Its many tucked-away corners are ideal for sunbathing, lounging under leafy trees, or strolling around the lake.
The bridge across the lake is a really Instagrammable spot – and if you visit in spring, the blooming cherry trees make the park even more magical. Bring a packed lunch and drinks, or grab some tapas from a nearby supermarket.
Speaking of instagrammable spots: Have you seen Kongens Have in the summer? It features classical sculptures, a fairytale castle, sunlight reflecting on water, and a flower-filled square bursting with colourful tulips.
Located right in the centre of Copenhagen, the garden fills up on sunny days but still manages to feel like a peaceful lunch spot. Grab a sandwich on Gothersgade or a poke bowl from OliOli on the corner, and claim a shaded bench.

One of the largest and most scenic natural areas in Copenhagen is Amager Fælled. With wildflowers, open trails, and views over the Øresund Strait, it’s a stunning spot for a long walk – and a great way to build up an appetite.
Not far from Fælleden is Pico Pizza Amager where you can quench your thirst with fresh lemonade, beer, or wine – and sink your teeth into your favourite mini pizzas. Enjoy your meal at the restaurant or take it home for a well-earned rest on the sofa.
This one’s a bit of a hidden gem – small and tucked away, but full of charm. The park is home to an enchanting mix of plant species and tree varieties, perfect for a quiet picnic just out of reach of city traffic.
There’s sun and shade, and plenty of calm corners where you can open your Pico Pizza box and let the aroma of sourdough, cheese, and toppings mix with the scent of grass and flowers. Pico Pizza Nørrebro is just a stone’s throw away.

The name gives it away – the Botanical Garden is a celebration of plants and greenery. It’s the perfect weekend spot for a stroll among exotic flowers, a visit to the iconic Palm House, or a detour to the Natural History Museum.
In summer, the garden is a lush escape in the middle of the city. In winter, it transforms into a magical snowy scene. Grab a bench with some food and drinks, or take a sandwich and coffee to go.
Valby Park is Copenhagen’s largest park, making it ideal for everything from a quiet stroll to a full-blown family celebration. There’s space to lay out blankets, play games, challenge friends to a round of beer bowling or even play frisbee golf.
It’s also a popular spot for dog walks. When you’re done exploring, swing by Pico Pizza Valby – right on the other side of Gl. Køge Landevej. If you’re with a group, you can mix and match from the full menu and build your own mini pizza feast right there in the grass.

Fælledparken is centrally located no matter where you’re coming from – walking from Østerbro, biking from Nørrebro, taking the bus from Amager, or hopping off the S-train from Sydhavnen. It’s a spacious park with room for everyone – joggers, families, sunseekers and picnic lovers.
The open layout means you can follow the sun all day, from morning to sunset. That also makes it one of the best spots for lunch or dinner under the open sky – and luckily, Pico Pizza Nordvest is close by. Book a table at the restaurant or check out our takeaway menu here.
