Copenhagen is full of lively restaurants. You can find them all year round. In winter, when it’s time to turn on the candles and the cozy restaurants really come to the fore. And especially in summer, when the city is buzzing with life due to the good weather and the long, bright summer nights. Here, it’s especially outdoor dining that’s popular.
Here we’ll give you some suggestions for good, lively restaurants in Copenhagen. Good places if you’re going out for brunch, enjoying lunch, having a cozy dinner and enjoying some drinks.
In Copenhagen’s Northwest district you will find the bakery Flere Fugle. In a cozy backyard, where there used to be a car mechanic, there is now nothing less than an excellent bakery.
The atmosphere is informal, lively and the smell of freshly baked pastries is irresistible. You can get everything from buns with cheese and butter to our favorite, and perhaps Flere Fugle’s signature pastry, a lemon swirl with birch sap.
We are not the only ones who love Flere Fugle. Politiken is also a fan.
You can sit inside, and there are tables and benches outside. It is even possible to sit in the sun if the weather is nice.
Nørrebro is Copenhagen’s Latin Quarter – full of historical attractions, exciting shops and, not least, lively restaurants. When you miss a good brunch, you can turn your attention to Sidecar. The restaurant is located at Skyttegade no. 5. Skyttegade is a cozy little cobblestone street in inner Nørrebro in the middle of the old industrial district.
Sidecar serves brunch, and it’s not just any brunch. Sidecar presents one of Copenhagen’s best brunches.
They have vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes, so there’s something for everyone. Of course, you can also get bubbles, so you can do it properly and upgrade your brunch to a real champagne brunch.
Sidecar is very popular, but the tables outside are first come, first served. If you don’t have a reservation, you can always swing by and see if there’s a place. If there’s a bit of a wait, just start with a mimosa on the curb and enjoy the good, lively atmosphere.
In Denmark, we are not good enough at eating fish. And that’s even though we are a fishing nation with almost 9,000km of coastline.
However, the good people from Hooked do what they can to help us become better at enjoying fish. Here you will find lobster rolls, fish & chips and much more.
You will find Hooked restaurants all over the city, and they all make a virtue of the good, lively atmosphere. There is nothing that can lift a meal like good surroundings and good people. Hooked has understood this, so you can be sure to have a good experience in one of their lively restaurants.
When hunger really starts to show again and you need to find dinner for the day, it’s time to head back to Nørrebro or Nordvest. Next to Sidecar is Pico Pizza, and it’s the perfect spot for gourmet mini-pizzas, draft beer from TO ØL, natural wine and, not least, cocktails – and heaps of it.
The menu has both classic pizzas and modern, exciting combinations. You can get sourdough pizzas, gluten-free pizzas and, not least, vegan variants.
We recommend booking a table, or otherwise you can of course stop by and see if there’s a place.
At Pico Pizza, you can either sit inside in the beautiful and cozy restaurant, or you can go for outdoor dining, where you sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere on the road. The area buzzes with life when evening falls. The cobblestone street brings to mind Southern Europe, and it’s hard not to like it.
There are plenty of lively restaurants in Copenhagen, and we’re sure you can find something that’s right to your heart’s content.
